Sat 5 Jul 25 - Wondai to Kingaroy (Towed 32km)
Weather: 1 to 20 Deg, clear with a light afternoon wind.
The Wondai Races were on today, so we had to vacate the grounds before 09:00am. We were on the road by 08:00am. 15km into our long drive to Kingaroy, we stopped at Wooroolin for coffee to kill time before we could check at Kingaroy (I scoped the cafe out yesterday on my ride to Wooroolin). We had the whole place to ourselves sitting outside in the morning sunshine - it was very pleasant, and the coffee was nice too. After coffee and a stroll around, we continued to the Kingaroy showgrounds and set up on our large piece turf by 10:00am. After getting ourselves sorted out, Noel went into town to get some groceries, while I stayed behind to entertain Olli, then after lunch, I went for a 40+km ride around town and along the rail trail back to Wooroolin and back to complete the rail trail from Kingaroy to Murgon in both directions. It was another very enjoyable ride on a magnificent day. Back at the van we sat outside in the afternoon sun for a while, before ordering takeaway chinese for dinner. It was only just OK for a change.
