Sat 07 June 25 - Emu Park
Weather: 15 to 24 Deg, Cloudy with very light drizzle early, clearing with a very light breeze.
My brother met me this morning at the caravan for an early walk along Emu Park Beach. Later we all met for coffee in town before Peter and Kelly continued on their way to Rockhampton. Noeleene and I then did a little grocery shopping before returning to the van for lunch. Uncle's Ross Street neighbour, Deb (prior to him selling his house and moving into aged care), came out to visit us for afternoon tea at 1:00pm. It was nice catching up with Deb again, the first time since Uncle passed away. Deb was a caring neighbour who kept a close eye on him in his later years before he moved into aged care. After lunch I had to clean our messy toilet again, and after speaking with a local caravan repairer who kindly returned my call (and on Sat afternoon), I finally decided we need to replace our toilet with a complete new unit. He also had some very uncomplimentary words to say about the Rockhampton business and the quote they provided last week. Unfortunately, we would have to wait around too long for a new unit to be sent to us here and for the local guy to install it, so we will explore options further south. As such, I will make some calls on Monday and arrange for a new unit to be installed in Bundaberg, unfortunately not for another 10-12 days. Late afternoon, we went for a short walk to the old town jetty and along the beach, then ordered wood-fired pizza from a young couple and their travelling pizzeria business for an early dinner, bringing to end another very pleasant day. We're both loving our very quiet and relaxing stay at Emu Park. It's so much more enjoyable hearing the sounds of birdlife rather than loud cars and noisy traffic.
