Day 29: Thu 05 June 25 - Yeppoon to Emu Park

Thu 05 June 25 - Yeppoon to Emu Park (20km)

Weather: 10 to 21 Deg. It felt much cooler than 10 this morning, and much warmer than 21 in the afternoon. In any case, the weather was awesome again today.

Today was our shortest move ever, and we weren't in a hurry to leave, so I went for my early walk along the beach. After breakfast back at the van, Noel and I walked back down to a favourite cafe of mine opposite the Main Beach. Coffee was very nice as usual, but unfortunately, Noel got half way through her muffin and discovered a fly baked amongst the apple and cinnamon. Very embarrassed staff refunded the cost of the muffin and added a $20 Gift Voucher to entice us back, along with many apologies. We eventually packed up and left Yeppoon, and by 11:30 we had arrived and checked in at the Tasman Caravan Park at Emu Park. We set the van up on a very large grassy site, then walked into town for lunch. It was at this point that all future caravan travels became a little more complicated. Short story is Noel has been desperate to have another pup/dog in her life, and she struck up a conversation with a lady from Mount Morgan who was visiting Emu Park for the day, and just happened to have a gorgeous 9 week old Maltese cross Chihuahua with her for sale. That pup - since named Olli, now belongs to Noeleene. Happy Wife - Happy Life 😁. He is cute, and at least he won't grow too big. Funny thing is, not five minutes earlier we discussed getting a another dog, but not until after we return from Europe in October. Now we will need a dog sitter for 6 weeks. We were planning to only stay at Emu Park for 4 nights, but as we now have to go to Rockhampton on Monday to meet up with the lady who sold us the dog and transfer the registration papers (he is microchipped, and had some vaccinations), we will now stay at Emu Park until Friday 13 June, which is as long as we had planned to stay in the area anyway. We also managed to score a deal where we paid for only paid for 6 nights and stay for 8. Mid afternoon, we drove back into Yeppoon quickly to buy Olli a bed, some wee pads (he's partly toilet trained), and some food, then back at Emu Park we went for a late walk, took some drone photos and settled in for the night with our new travel companion.

PS - It is so much nicer and quieter than it was at Yeppoon.

Hello...

A bit fresh this morning, but another cracking day

Gift Voucher for $20 to entice us back for coffee at Lure Living

And then there were three...Totally Unexpected

Meet Olli

Emu Park Park

Evening stroll. 2 more weeks before Parvo Virus vaccination #2, so no contact with grass or other dogs. Until then all walks will be in the stroller which we also acquired from Olli's previous owner.

All too much excitement for a 9 week old.
