Wed 28 May 25 - Gladstone

Weather: 18 to 27 Deg, partly cloudy with a light breeze

Nothing exciting to report today. The whole day was a day of family time before Noel and I leave Gladstone tomorrow. At 3:00pm I went back to the van to start packing, then returned to Mum's for dinner. I had not taken one photo at 5:00pm, so Mum's very pretty Poincettia becomes the day's feature photo. After dinner, we returned to the van for my quickest blog ever, then sat back to watch the State of Origin.

Thu 10 Jul 25 - Inverell Weather: 4 to 14 Deg. Mostly clear with fresh westerly winds to 45km/h It was a cold morning and it stayed cold all day with the help of a very fresh westerly wind. It was slow to get going this morning, before eventually stepping out for a walk along the river and through town. Day 41: Tue 17 June 25 - Gladstone to Bundaberg

Tue 17 June 25 - Gladstone to Bundaberg (234km) Weather: 16 Deg with a light shower in Gladstone to 21 Deg and cloudy in Bundaberg. Olli decided we should wake up at 05:00am, and so we did. I went for a nice long walk before returning to pack up and we were on our way out of Gladstone by 0845am. Our morning coffee stop was at the 'Best Coffee' in Gin Gin - and it was nice. Not sure there is much competition in Gin Gin though. We continued to Bundaberg to our intended overnight stay at the Hinkler Lions Park free camp, and like the two vans that turned into the park in front of us, we drove straight out again. It looked like a tent city with what appeared to be many homeless people, and some who appeared to be alcohol or drug (or both) affected, and litter everywhere. It was disgusting, and it did not feel like a safe place to be. Day 67: Sun 13 Jul 25 - Cowra to Home (and Trip Stats)

Sun 13 Jul 25 - Cowra to Home (Towed 177km) Weather: 0 Deg, frost and fog in Cowra to a max of 12 Deg and clear at home. Our winter days of shorts and t-shirts have well and truly ended for this year. After waking early, we had a warming cuppa, then I went for a quick walk across the bridge into town for a look around. There's a lot of interest things to see in Cowra, for example the Japanese Gardens, Prisoner of War Campsite and War Cemetery. We have seen them before, and we're keen to see them again, but that will be for another visit. I returned from my walk to scrape the ice off the windscreen and finished getting ready for the final leg of our trip home. While Noel finished prepping the inside of the van, I quickly popped across the road to Maccas to grab a couple of takeaway coffees and a bite to eat, then we were on our way.
